Modix – an Israeli manufacturer of large-format 3D printers, is expanding its offer with new devices, including two having working areas of 1 meter in selected XYZ axes. The company officially manages its latest solutions for the aviation, automotive and prosthetic market, however, keep in mind that despite their impressive size, they are relatively cheap machines and… offered in the form of self-assembly kits!

The new 3D printers are Modix BIG-Meter, Modix BIG-180X and Modix BIG-40. They are based on the same technology and design solutions as the existing BIG-60 (version 3.0), BIG-120X and 120Z.

The Modix BIG-Meter has a working area of 1000 x 1000 x 1000 mm and is offered at a price starting at $ 10,500.00. Modix BIG-180X has a working area of 1800 x 1000 x 600 mm and depending on the variant costs from $ 12,000. The latest novelty – Modix BIG-40 is the smallest of the three, with a working area of 400 x 400 x 800 mm. It costs $ 4,500.00.

As mentioned in the introduction, all Modix 3D printers are offered as self-assembly kits, which has a significant impact on their price and transport costs. At the same time, it is worth noting that the components that the Israeli manufacturer uses in them are quite well known to users of ordinary desktop and amateur devices… Printheads are popular, British E3D (V6, Volcano High Flow or Super-Volcano), controllers – DUET3D, motion systems – HIWIN , igus and Gates, and power supplies – Meanwell. The enclosures are made of composite aluminum. 3D printers have sensors for filament flow, filament locks in the head and an automatic leveling system for the work table, based on up to 100 measuring points.
