Chinese manufacturer Snapmaker today announced the launch of the latest generation of 3-in-1 3D printer, Artisan. The device is equipped with three manufacturing tools – a double extruder for 3D printing from filaments, a laser head for engraving and a CNC head for machining. The Artisan work area is 40 x 40 x 40 cm! The device will be available for pre-sale from August 9 this year on the manufacturer’s website, for $ 2,799 and with free shipping.

Established in 2016, Snapmaker has specialized in the production of 3-in-1 desktop 3D printers that integrate 3D printing, laser engraving and cutting, and CNC milling from the very beginning. In 2019, the company set a record on Kickstarter with $ 7,850,866 for the Snapmaker 2.0 model. It also won the CES Innovation Award 2020 and the iF Design Award 2022.

Compared to the Snapmaker 2.0, the new Artisan provides:

  • new generation linear module – steel guides made by CNC were embedded in new linear modules; this leads to a significant increase in the precision, rigidity and durability of the structure, ensuring fast, accurate and stable operation
  • work area at the level of 400 x 400 x 400 mm
  • faster tool module replacement – the manufacturer claims that tool change takes only a minute and does not require the use of screws
  • 3D printing with a double extruder at 300°C – Artisan is able to print soluble PVA supports as well as difficult, high-temperature materials such as nylon
  • optimized transmission system and new motion control algorithm ensure dimensional accuracy of ± 0.1 mm even at high speed 150-180 mm / s
  • automatic leveling of the heatbed and Z axis offset calibration for both extruders
  • engraving and laser cutting with a power of 10 W – the new laser module can engrave at a speed of up to 6000 mm / min, while cutting wood up to 8 mm thick in one pass
  • CNC with a power of up to 200W; is +300% more power and +50% more maximum spindle speed compared to the previous model; Snapmaker claims to cut hard wood like beech 6 times faster, with dimensional accuracy down to 0.2mm
  • control system with a 7-inch touch screen
  • closed work area.

The Artisan Snapmaker sale will be launched on the manufacturer’s official website on August 9, 2022. The pre-sale price is $ 2799 with free shipping, and the nominal price is $ 2999.
