Fiberlogy – polish manufacturer of materials for FDM / FFF 3D printers, introduces a new product line called FiberSilk Metallic. This expansion of the product portfolio is dedicated to enthusiasts of artistic 3D printing, who have so far been eager to use such filaments as: Mineral PLA, Fiberwood or the range of fancy PLA and ABS colors.

Fiberlogy has created a proprietary composition of polymers for the needs of the new product. The filament produced from them gives a pure metallic shine, enabling the extraction of the smallest details of the model and creating an eye-catching play of light and shadow on its surface. FiberSilk Metallic is currently available in 10 colors, but soon this palette will be doubled, which will further facilitate the selection of a color suitable for each 3D print.

FiberSilk Metallic is characterized by high resistance to mechanical factors. Above-average impact strength, high adhesion and resistance to crushing cause that when subjected to pressure, it returns to its original shape. These features make elements created with its use, such as vases or decorations, more durable and perfect for presentations and exhibitions.

Despite its unique visual and durability properties, FiberSilk Metallic will not be difficult even for less experienced 3D printing enthusiasts. For best results, the manufacturer recommends limiting the print speed and using a strong airflow in the printing process. Such conditions will ensure a shiny and silky smooth surface.

3D print settings for FiberSilk Metallic:

  • 3D print temperature: 210-230°C
  • bed temperature: 50-70°C (when using pads or other means of increasing adhesion, table heating is not required)
  • closed chamber: not required
  • fan speed: 80-100%
  • printing speed: 35-60 mm/s
  • retraction: yes, 2-3 mm
  • raft: not required.

FiberSilk Metallic will go on sale in mid-February this year and will be available through a network of Fiberlogy distributors.
