Protolabs transforms Hubs into Protolabs Network

Hubs, the online 3D printing network acquired by Protolabs in 2021, has been renamed Protolabs Network. The company provides customers with access to over 250 suppliers around the world. Protolabs says this will enable users to benefit from competitive pricing, faster delivery times and unified customer service.

The name change follows a successful period for Hubs, which saw significant year-on-year revenue growth in 2023 and grew its network to over 250 “highly vetted” providers. This is complemented by Protolabs’ own factories, which are better equipped to handle small production volumes to provide customers with resources throughout the product lifecycle. Hubs/Protolabs Network also provide a range of pricing options, as well as allowing customers to access tighter tolerances and improved finishing options.

“We are building a business model that the manufacturing industry has never seen before, and customers are truly starting to realize its full potential,” explained Rob Bodor, president and CEO of Protolabs. “In the third quarter of 2023 alone, Protolabs Network increased its revenues year-on-year by nearly +87%. It’s a true testament not only to our experienced customer base that extracts this production value, but also to our entire Protolabs team that brings this model to life.”
