New ecosystem of Zortrax resin 3D printing tested by Quandum Aerospace

Quandum Aerospace – a Spanish manufacturer of optoelectronic and electronic systems for the aviation, medical and energy markets, is a long-time user of Zortrax 3D printers and was one of the first to test Zortrax Powerful Trio – a new resin 3D printing ecosystem consisting of the Zortrax Inkspire 2 3D printer and post-processing devices: Zortrax Cleaning Station and Zortrax Curing Station.

Quandum Aerospace used the Zortrax Inkspire 2 3D printer together with the Zortrax Cleaning Station and the Zortrax Curing Station to make elements of medical devices ordered by one of its clients.

It is easy to use, fast, incredibly precise and reliable. Handling high-end resins is invaluable. The Quandum team found the Zortrax resin printing ecosystem to be fast, easy to use and efficient. According to them, the Zortrax Inkspire 2 3D printer, Zortrax Curing Station and Zortrax Cleaning Station are “amazingly designed”, complement each other perfectly and cope with continuous, intensive work in a high-tech manufacturing company. The team came to the conclusion that Zortrax Inkspire 2 is ideal for manufacturing large prototypes and short-run production. The machine is easy to clean and maintain in perfect technical condition. Other features they highlighted are the factory calibration of the build plate and the resin control system, which allows printing of relatively large models.

Zortrax Cleaning Station was appreciated for its automation, especially for automatic removal of models from the cleaning chamber after finishing work. Zortrax Curing Station, the last link in the resin 3D printing process, also turned out to be simple and easy to use. Each curing session lasted only a few minutes. Since the correct curing time was indicated in the Z-SUITE software, there was no doubt about choosing the right settings.

The Zortrax Inkspire 2 UV LCD 3D printer, Zortrax Cleaning Station and Zortrax Curing Station were launched in mid-September and are available in the Zortrax online store and local distributors.
