Materialise announces new CEO – Brigitte de Vet-Veithen

Materialise announced that the company’s Board of Directors has appointed Brigitte de Vet-Veithen as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). de Vet-Veithen will succeed Fried Vancraen, who co-founded Materialise in 1990 and served as CEO for 33 years since its inception. Vancraen will continue to represent Materialise as President of the Management Board.

“We founded Materialise with a mission to create a better and healthier world,” Vancraen said. “Thirty-three years later, the company has reached the perfect time to hire new leadership to take us into the future. This transition marks an evolution in leadership, not a departure. I am proud of what we have achieved through our efforts to improve and save patient lives and to advance industrial production process thanks to innovative 3D printing solutions.

Brigitte de Vet-Veithen is an experienced manager with over 30 years of experience in various industries. She joined Materialise in 2016 and is currently the Executive Vice President of Materialise Medical, a company that develops 3D printing software and solutions dedicated to healthcare. Under her leadership, the medical segment became the company’s fastest growing and most profitable business segment.

“Brigitte has the perfect blend of internal and external experience and has demonstrated a deep commitment to Materialise’s mission and employee development. I can’t imagine a better person than Brigitte to lead Materialise and help shape our industry into the future,” Vancraen added.
