Eplus3D introduces a large-format 3D metal printer with 16 lasers

Eplus3D – a leading Chinese manufacturer of industrial 3D printers, introduces a new large-format 3D printer for metal – EP-M1550, which, in addition to a truly spectacular working area, is equipped with as many as 16 laser heads. The machine with a working chamber measuring 1558 x 1558 x 1000 mm can also be expanded even further! The 3D laser printer operating in PBF (Powder Bed Fusion) technology can be ultimately equipped with 25 laser heads, and the production capacity in the Z axis can be extended to 2000 mm.

EP-M1550 can work with many metal powders – titanium alloy, aluminum alloy, stainless steel, high temperature alloys, die steel, cobalt-chromium alloys and others. The 3D printing speed is to reach 540 cm3/h, which is possible thanks to the simultaneous operation of as many as sixteen laser heads operating synchronously. Eplus3D further claims that the density of printed parts exceeds 99.9%. The thickness of the layers is adjustable – they can range from 20 μm to 120 μm. They can be additionally adjusted depending on the complexity, degree of topology optimization, internal wall thickness and other features of the manufactured parts, so as to maximize the speed of work. The quality of the EP-M1550 laser beam is also high (M 2 ≤ 1.1).

The size of the printing chamber is 1558 x 1558 x 1100 mm with a working volume of 2670 liters. Its height in the Z direction can be extended to 2,000 mm, giving the maximum construction volume as much as 4,854 liters. The 3D printer is to be delivered to the first customers in September this year, and will also be presented live for the first time at the TCT Asia 2023 trade fair in Shanghai.
