Dassault Systèmes and Xometry have announced a collaboration to provide customers with a seamless, integrated way of manufacturing parts that will accelerate product development from the concept phase to the production process. Engineers can get their designs done faster thanks to instant access to Xometry parts price quotes without leaving SOLIDWORKS and CATIA design environments. Information about the partnership was announced during 3DEXPERIENCE World 2020 in Nashville.

Engineers using software of the Dassault Systèmes can now play a greater role in the area of designing to production, focusing on the shape of the prototype as well as the cost of its manufacture. While obtaining production prices from service providers required several clicks in the web interface, now it is done immediately thanks to one-click support integrated with SOLIDWORKS and CATIA.

Engineers can view Xometry price offers on the screen in the context of their design and click to produce it, while retaining the option of receiving immediate offers or manual quotes from other MAKE Marketplace suppliers.

Sébastien Massart, director of corporate strategy at Dassault Systèmes MAKE Marketplace says, has been helping customers design and production since 2018. The cooperation with Xometry is a step forward – customers can order high-quality additive production or CNC machining parts with just one click at the right price, thanks to Xometry’s instant quote. This is all part of the company’s vision that involves introducing further improvements from design to production.

Thanks to the cooperation, Xometry became the first “main partner” of the MAKE Marketplace by Dassault Systèmes. The new category recognizes qualified service providers with industrial grade quality certificates and production capabilities meeting demanding needs and ensuring a high level of satisfaction. Dassault Systèmes plans to add more “main partners” to the 3DEXPERIENCE Marketplace ecosystem.

Engineers need the right tools to successfully perform their tasks, and this includes working with a responsive, trusted production partner. Randy Altschuler, CEO at Xometry, admits that as a leader in 3D printing and on-demand production, he has served many clients in the MAKE Marketplace since its launch. Thanks to close cooperation with Dassault Systèmes, the company can establish direct contacts with clients and undertake to provide a quote for each client inquiry. All to enable faster production.
