On December 1st 2021 during EXPO 2020 in Dubai in United Arab Emirates, Creality – one of the largest manufacturers of amateur 3D printers in the world, presented a number of new products that it intends to introduce to the market at the beginning of next year. In a short series of articles, we present individual novelties one by one – we started with the latest version of the popular Ender-3 S1CR-10 Smart Pro and Sermoon V1 & V1 Pro. In this article we describe the last group of products: a 3D scanner, a 5-inch touch panel for 3D printers and PLA Ultra filaments supplied by BASF.

The 3D scanner called CR-Scan 01 is a super cheap (699-759 dollars depending on the version) solution for companies and people who would like to enter the world of 3D scanning without expecting spectacular effects on a professional level. It can be used by hand or it can be installed on a tripod in combination with a swivel table. CR-Scan 01 captures both the geometry of the object as well as its textures and colors, and uses white LED light at work.

The 3D scanning accuracy declared by Creality is 0.1 mm, and the speed is 10 fps. The maximum area of a single 3D scan is 53.6 x 37.8 cm, and the distance at which we can scan is 40-90 cm.

Another product is a 5-inch touch screen to control the operation of a 3D printer, which can be connected to any of the Creality device models and any other devices based on Marlin firmware. It is an independent version of the control screen that has been equipped with the latest models of Creality 3D printers – Ender-3 S1 and CR-10 Smart Pro. Thanks to it, we can connect to the Creality cloud and record files for 3D printing. The official price of the panel is $ 69.99 (approx. PLN 285 excluding taxes, duties and shipping costs).

The latest novelty are HP Ultra PLA filaments, created in cooperation between Creality and BASF – one of the largest chemical concerns in the world and a leading player in the 3D printing materials sector for several years. The material does not have any special properties – it is simply a very well-made material, taking into account all standards and certifications.
