Practically from the very beginning of its existence, the American Formlabs is perceived as a pioneer of 3D printing with light-curing resins in the desktop edition, which introduced 3D printers of this type to homes. Meanwhile, a few months before Formlabs, another American start-up appeared on the market – B9 Creations, which de facto was the first one to offer individual users cheap, photopolymer 3D printers. Although few people in Poland remember about B9Creator, the company is triumphant on the domestic American market, recording an increase of 180.93% in the last three years. This result allowed her to hit the list of Inc. publishing a list of 5,000 fastest growing companies in the USA. B9Creations was ranked 2318, next to brands such as Intuit, Zappos, Under Armor, and Microsoft.

B9 Creations made its debut on the market in 2011, launching a Kickstarter campaign during which it raised funds to start the production of its debut 3D printer. The company managed to raise as much as half a million dollars, which allowed the aforementioned Formlabs, who a year later launched his own campaign on Kickstarter (at the same time gaining almost six times more money). The debut device was offered in a self-assembly kit, and the light source was a DLP projector.

Currently, the offer of B9 Creations includes seven 3D printers, differing in terms of their working area, accuracy and application (division into an industrial and medical series). Additionally, the offer includes a 3D scanner and peripheral devices for post-processing (isopropyl alcohol washers, UV platesetter). The company has its own software and a line of its own light-curing resins – including biocompatible resins or foundry-jewelry resins.

The 3D printers cost from $ 9,955 to $ 14,995, except that you should add the costs of peripherals or licenses for higher versions of the software.

B9 Creations products are offered on many markets around the world, but still do not have representatives, incl. in Poland, Germany, Benelux and Scandinavia. The manufacturer can boast of a rich portfolio of customers, among which there are, among others Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson, 3M, and Procter & Gamble.
