Anycubic launches a photopolymer 3D printer with a 12k LCD screen

Chinese 3D printer manufacturer Anycubic has launched the Photon Mono M5s, the first consumer resin printer with a 12K screen. The device is equipped with a 10.1-inch 12K monochrome LCD screen, which ensures high-detail printouts. In addition, it uses mechanical sensors that seamlessly identify and adjust the alignment between the build table and the floating leveling module, ensuring optimal working conditions.

Photon Mono M5s has a 10.1-inch monochrome LCD screen with a resolution of 11520 x 5120 px, setting a “new standard” as the first 12K 3D printer available to consumer users. The screen allows users to create models with the highest possible precision, reaching up to 19 μm of detail. In addition, Photon Mono M5s offers a contrast ratio of 480:1, which allows you to reproduce even the smallest details of printed parts.

An automated system that detects and adjusts the alignment between the build plate and the floating leveling module eliminates the need for manual calibration. By implementing this solution, Anycubic aims to increase the success rate of printouts and improve overall work efficiency.

Anycubic has introduced a new 3D printing method that significantly increases efficiency, resulting in an average printing speed of 105 mm / h. The enhanced speed of the Photon Mono M5s is achieved through the integration of high speed resin and customized third generation release film, complemented by Anycubic’s new Photon Workshop 3.1 software. This combination reduces 3D printing time by up to 74%.

The film at the bottom of the resin container has a lower release force, resulting in a higher success rate for 3D prints and better performance in terms of lifting speed. Anycubic has developed a new resin specifically for this 3D printer model, featuring a low viscosity to reduce exposure and curing times. In addition, the Photon Mono M5s uses optimized motion control, allowing for smoother lifting and lowering movements of the print bed.

Photon Mono M5s includes an intelligent monitoring system, consisting of three modules: hardware inspection, resin detection and print detection. Before printing, the Photon Mono M5s performs checks to ensure that the connection and functionality of the screen, mechanical sensing module, and motor are correct. The 3D printer then checks for the availability of enough resin in the container to avoid interruptions caused by running out of resin during operation. During the 3D printing process, the Photon Mono M5s continuously monitors the progress in real time and immediately alerts users of any incidents via the Anycubic app.

After more than 30,000 prints, it is recommended to replace the protective film and reset the print history to maintain optimum speed (or increase the lift height by 2mm) to avoid speed degradation. When operating in high speed mode, it is recommended to use a 2 mm thick hollow model. For solid or large section models, the lifting height must be adjusted accordingly.
