Anycubic, China’s leading manufacturer of desktop photopolymer 3D printers, and JBD, a leading manufacturer of MicroLED displays, have announced their collaboration to develop the world’s first consumer MicroLED 3D printer. The device will be equipped with a MicroLED UV display and the latest 0.3CC adjustable light engine from JBD. The 3D printer will be equipped with a compact light module that will ensure low power consumption of 6W and a long service life.

Thanks to the high pixel density (> 6000PPI) MicroLED, the 3D printer will be able to print details as small as 10 µm. What’s more, the durable JBD light module will allow the 3D printer to work for over 20,000 hours, which will significantly extend its life. The device will be presented at TCT Asia in August and at the CIEE Expo in September 2022.

MicroLED is the state-of-the-art micro-display technology preferred by many applications due to its unique features such as ultra-high brightness, high contrast, wide color gamut and low power consumption. JBD’s MicroLED is manufactured using hybrid semiconductor integration technology. It is manufactured by combining inorganic III-V LEDs with a silicon CMOS backplane. It can be used to produce ultra-high pixel density micro-displays with a pixel density greater than 10,000 PPI and use semiconductor materials that can emit wavelengths spanning the entire spectrum from ultraviolet to infrared.
