3DfindIT.com is a library for professionals that is a complex aggregate to search for original parts, made available for free by the largest manufacturers in the world. Among them we can find, among others ABB, Bosch, Epson, Panasonic, Toshiba, Yamaha, and Würth. Recently the platform was upgraded – the user interface has been completely redesigned and the range of functions has been expanded to better support the design and planning process with 3D CAD and BIM models.

The platform is developed by the German company Cadenas and currently has almost 5,000 manufacturers’ catalogs and supports 121 CAD formats. With intelligent search functions, free CAD and BIM data downloads and a new improved interface, it is one of the largest platforms for architects, planners, engineers and designers.

There are many different file formats for download at 3DFindIt.com: SOLIDWORKS, Autodesk Revit, ALLPLAN, ArchiCAD, Autodesk Inventor, NX, Solid Edge, PTC Creo Parametric, AutoCAD, CATIA and more. The search results can be precisely narrowed down thanks to numerous filters – starting from the basic shape of the needed component, the obtained search results can be narrowed down step by step. The parameters can be adjusted directly in the 3D preview until the visible model matches the searched element.

If a 2D sketch search returns too many search results, you can perform another search to further refine the number of results. When uploading existing geometry, you can search the available manufacturers’ catalogs for similar geometric standard and purchased parts. The “3D Preview” tool, on the other hand, offers many possibilities: making changes to the dimensions of the element directly in the browser, creating cross-sections for better evaluation, or determining additionally required values using the measurement function.

The manufacturer announces that soon there will be direct integration of CAD with the user interface of many systems such as PTC Creo Parametric, Onshape, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk AutoCAD, Siemens NX, Siemens Solid Edge or Dassault Systèmes SOLIDWORKS.
