3D Systems launches VSP Connect – a portal for planning operations

3D Systems has announced the launch of VSP Connect, a centralized, cloud-based operations planning portal that integrates automated workflows and artificial intelligence (AI). The portal is the latest addition to VSP’s surgical planning solutions and enables device manufacturers and surgeons to create real-time patient case visualization and enhanced collaboration capabilities.

VSP Connect is powered by Enhatch, a company that 3D Systems partnered with in 2022 to scale personalized medical device shipments. The solution combines Enhatch’s AI and automation technologies with FDA-approved 3D Systems workflows for patient-specific solutions, including advanced software, expert planning services, personalized implant and tool design, 3D printers and 3D printing processes.

The combination improves the visibility of healthcare systems and medical device manufacturers in line with 3D printers, as well as streamlining the preoperative planning process to help make personalized procedures more efficient while ensuring better outcomes.

3D Systems says VSP’s surgical planning solutions combine “best-in-class” digital workflows with a wide range of 3D printers and additive manufacturing materials to deliver patient-specific solutions. VSP Connect enhances opportunities with automated workflows that the company says enhances communication between all stakeholders while facilitating compliance with industry regulations and internal accuracy protocols.

Artificial intelligence enables VSP Connect to offer pre-filled designs that are tailored to individual surgeon preferences as well as standard product types. A secure, cloud-based portal aggregates the various processes, creating an interface that provides 24/7 access to case status and the ability to send notes or parts depending on the company.

The aim of the new portal is to streamline the pre-operative planning process using 3D systems, which results in shortening the procedure time and improving patient outcomes.
