XYZprinting is an undisputed winner of electronics trade CES 2016 (at least in the category: “who gives more”). When another companies presented one, up to three devices, a Taiwanese producer announced seven new 3D printers! All of them should appear till the end of this year. Now, it’s time for a premiere of the first one.

DaVinci Pro 1.0 3 in 1 appeared on the market on Friday. The DaVinci 1.0. fortifies the market of multifunctional devices, because instead of 3D printer, it is equipped with a 3D scanner with high resolution and laser engraver.

The integrated scanner includes a user-friendlu360-degree automatic rotating platform and dual-laser scanning technology. Scanning of one object takes about 5 minutes and its intuitive software automatically converts multi-angle scans into one image.

The 3D printer is equipped with an aluminium, heated workbed and removable extruder, wireless connectivity, and an intuitive calibration system. The revamped XYZ Pro software includes improved slicing speeds and is compatible with third party g-codes; it also manages your laser engraver design and settings.

Technical specification

  • resolution:  100 – 400 microns,
  • nozzle diameter: 0,4mm.

3D Scanner:

  • scan technology: slit laser triangulation,
  • scan resolution: 3×3 cm to 15×15 cm (1.18 x 1.18 cm to 5.9 x 5.9 in)/2140 points/cm2 (13900 points/inch2),

For me it seems to be surprising that an engraver is an additional option in machine which is advertised as a 3 in 1 3D printer. Its basic version costs 729 £. For the option with the engraver and print volume: 20×20 cm, you have to pay additional 99 £. A full-version is available only on European market, but it will appear soon in offer of American distributor.
