Roboze, a leading Italian 3D printing company, announced today that it has joined SAP’s early access program for the SAP® Distributed Manufacturing application. The early access program, a joint collaboration with UPS, is intended to make 3D printing and on-demand manufacturing an integral part of the digital manufacturing landscape. The program aims to provide standard and scalable business processes for digitizing, approving, certifying and manufacturing digital parts in an end-to-end digital manufacturing process.

The program includes discrete manufacturers, industrial 3D printing companies and service providers, postal companies and global logistics networks providers. Roboze will join leading global 3D printing companies that have already confirmed their participation in this exclusive initiative to offer its unique technology for producing high-quality, accurate 3D parts from advanced metal replacement techno-polymers.

As the 3D printing industry is looking for ways to go beyond prototyping towards embedding technology in manufacturing processes, new solutions are essential to support the transition. With the rise of new and advanced 3D printing technologies, and the increasing awareness of global manufacturers of the advantages of 3D printing, broader and more professional management tools are required to enable access to the right resources.

The SAP Distributed Manufacturing application is designed to help manufacturers and suppliers collaborate on outsourcing the manufacturing process “just in time”. This innovative cloud-based solution helps global high-tech companies to engage with leading 3D printing solution providers for fast and efficient delivery of 3D printed parts for manufacturing applications. It aims to enable customers to analyze and prioritize parts suitable for digitization, manage CAD and STL files and pricing issues, and evaluate manufacturing options from in-house production options to external OEM service providers. Customers can manage the execution process all the way to parts printing and shipment, supported by UPS logistics infrastructures.

Roboze technology was recently adopted around the world by leading global industry leaders such as Conglomerate General Electric for advanced manufacturing applications; MECAER, the Italian luxury helicopter manufacturer; and Elbit Systems, the biggest Israeli defense company. It is also being used by other high-tech companies that have decided to use 3D printing to save costs and make manufacturing more agile, efficient and faster.
