Evonik presents a new, flexible material for 3D printing using SLS technology – INFINAM TPA

Evonik is expanding its portfolio of elastomeric materials for SLS 3D printing technology by introducing INFINAM TPA 4006 P – a new powder grade optimized for all types of open source SLS 3D printing machines. Evonik will present its new material at Formnext on November 7–10, 2023.

INFINAM TPA 4006 P is a PA12 elastomer consisting of 12 polyamide segments and softening segments, characterized by rubber-like properties, exceptional impact resistance – and therefore excellent elasticity. The new elastomer is characterized by high process stability and excellent powder flow properties. Moreover, the fine powder can be produced with a reuse rate of 50% virgin material and 50% waste material.

Parts printed with INFINAM TPA 4006 P are characterized by excellent surface resolution and detail, and at the same time demonstrate exceptional durability in a wide temperature range – from -40°C to 90°C. The powder is also ideal for producing functional, technologically advanced 3D plastic parts – both for prototypes and serial products. TPA has been used for decades as the material of choice for a variety of consumer product applications.
