Stratasys announced that Evonik, one of the largest specialty chemicals manufacturers in the world, has become the third official materials partner for the Origin One 3D printer. Evonik will develop and supply photopolymer materials to bring the quality of the printed parts to the level of their injection molded counterparts.

The first material developed for Stratasys as part of the partnership is P3 Deflect 120, which has been tested for reliability on an Origin One 3D printer. Evonik’s tests suggest a 10% improvement in durability compared to competing 3D printers using DLP technology.

The ability to print parts with heat deflection temperature up to 120°C addresses a key need for materials that are specifically designed to be less brittle at high temperatures. Thanks to this, they can be used for the production of molds used in the production sector.

Customers in the USA and selected European countries can already order the newly introduced material on the market.
