E3D launches Revo high-flow printheads

The British manufacturer of components for 3D printers – E3D, has launched a high-flow Revo printhead. The “Revo” product line is an advanced system that enables quick nozzle changes while improving thermal efficiency and reliability.

High-flow nozzles are a new concept in FDM / FFF 3D printing and perfectly match the current development trend of high-speed 3D printers. It solves the problem of a quick demand for filament – the faster it flows through the head, the less time it has to melt the material properly. Some high-flow systems simply extend the filament path inside the head to extend contact time, however, they are usually tall and difficult to install in most amateur or desktop 3D printers.

Bondtech came up with a unique idea: instead of extending the filament path inside the head, they increased the metal surface to heat the material more efficiently. They created a CHT head that internally separates the filament to achieve this. From the outside, the nozzle looks just like any other print nozzle.

E3D has partnered with Bondtech to help develop the new Revo high flow head. It has a similar but slightly different design than Bondtech. The high-flow head features 60W heating cores that easily handle a variety of materials at high speeds, including unusual engineering materials. E3D produced the High Flow Revo system with several different nozzles, with diameters: 0.4 mm, 0.6 mm and 0.8 mm. All Revo nozzles are color coded for easy identification. In addition, the company has introduced options: 1.0 mm, 1.2 mm and 1.4 mm, dedicated to large format 3D printers.

The cost of the system is £155.40. Revo heads can be ordered here.
