Skriware formally taken over by Danish Shape Robotics

The Danish company Shape Robotics has finalized the acquisition of the Polish company operating in the education sector – Skriware. Pursuant to the signed agreement, the shareholders of the Warsaw company will exchange their shares for shares in Shape Robotics, taking up a total of over 1.16 million shares. The transaction values the entire stake in the Polish company at EUR 5.1 million (approx. PLN 22 million). The letter of intent regarding the takeover of the company was signed in June this year.

On January 1, 2024, Skriware will become part of the Shape Robotics group and will begin to act as a software development center there. Skriware was founded in 2015 as one of many manufacturers of desktop FDM / FFF 3D printers at that time. Over time, it moved away from this business model, creating an educational platform based on 3D printing and modeling, educational robots, programming tools and an online platform for teachers. It provides such solutions to over 4,000. schools in Poland. He has business partners, among others: in the Czech Republic, Romania, Italy and the Middle East. In 2022, it achieved PLN 24 million in revenues – twice as much as in 2021.

“The acquisition of Skriware is an opportunity for us to expand the product range, strengthen the organization, increase margins and sales range. We expect that the enrichment of our product offer will translate into significant synergies in the operational area,” says André Fehrn, CEO of Shape Robotics. – “We have always liked to call Skriware our Polish counterpart, so I am very happy that we are joining forces to grow together in the rapidly growing market in Poland and other European markets.”

Shape Robotics is a Danish company founded in 2017, listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange in Copenhagen. In 2022, it achieved revenues of DKK 87.4 million (approx. PLN 50 million). He specializes in designing educational kits that help students build robots. The merging companies are to jointly create a complete educational path in the STEAM area for institutions at all levels.

“Skriware and Shape Robotics products complement each other. Together we can also develop new generations of comprehensive solutions for teachers and students and acquire global IT partners. Skriware is already 30% present. Polish schools – and this is at a time when Poland begins to introduce STEAM education at all stages of education – from kindergartens to universities,” says Karol Górnowicz, CEO of Skriware.
