Siemens Energy and DNV create a new platform for industrial 3D printing

Siemens Energy and DNV, leaders in the energy and certification industry, have joined forces to create a quality control platform for the 3D printing industry. Siemens Energy has developed AM Cockpit – a platform for automatic quality control of the 3D printing process, while DNV has launched a customer portal called Independent Quality Monitor (IQM), which monitors the quality of digital solutions.

The combination of both of these tools allows DNV to offer a commercial solution for the 3D printing industry, ensuring that 3D printed parts can be compared with an accepted pattern and that remote certification of the process is possible. AM Cockpit collects data and images from the manufacturing process, generates digital summaries of each printed part, and flags potential problems. Meanwhile, IQM continuously monitors data quality through algorithms and compliance logic.

Siemens Energy is a pioneer in the field of energy transformation – the company covers the entire spectrum of energy solutions and supports its customers’ ambitious decarbonisation goals. The AM Cockpit and IQM digital quality control method visualizes the quality of the printing process to meet the necessary quality standards. Through complex analysis and monitoring, these tools increase the credibility and reliability of 3D printed products.

The innovation of Siemens Energy and DNV introduces a new quality in the 3D printing industry, giving the possibility of effective and precise monitoring of processes. Thanks to this, this technology becomes even more reliable and affordable for various industry sectors.
