Markforged, a leading manufacturer of industrial 3D printers in the world, specializing in the production of applications from high-performance plastics and composites using, among others carbon and glass fiber, announced the expansion of its material offer with … ordinary PLA! The material, called Precise PLA, aims to optimize the production costs of early prototypes and greater flexibility in material management.

Precise PLA is a “specialized” version of PLA Markforged, one of the most popular materials in 3D printing – especially in the amateur and hobby edition. The manufacturer will offer the filament in eight color variants: yellow, red, green, blue, orange, black, white and gray. Precise PLA joins the list of 27 unique materials, which includes traditional industrial plastics, continuous carbon fibers and metals.

The filament will be available for order from March 15 this year. and will be compatible with the Mark Two (Gen 2) and Onyx Pro (Gen 2) 3D printer models. PLA is also expected to be available in the second quarter of this year on all Industrial Series 3D printers equipped with the latest A3648 print module – including the X3, X5 and X7 models.
