The COVID-19 pandemic is consistently canceling further trade shows and industry conferences. Last week, we informed about the postponement of Dni Druku 3D – the largest additive technology fair in Central and Eastern Europe, now we have a nasty obligation to inform about the cancellation of the next event… The Rapid. Tech 3D – the oldest German congress fair for additive technologies, is postponed for the whole year – will not be organized until May 2021.

The original date of the event was set to May 5-7, 2020. Unfortunately, due to the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus, the date turned out to be impossible to achieve. Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor recently announced that 60-70 percent of population of the country will be infected during a epidemic. If this actually happens, then even a million of Germany’s population may die from coronovirus infection. In such circumstances, the decision to postpone the conference for a year is not surprising.

Michael Kynast, CEO of Messe Erfurt GmbH and Prof. Dr. Gerd Witt, Chairman of the Rapid.Tech 3D advisory board said in press release:

We did not make this decision easy for ourselves and discussed it in detail with the members of our expert advisory board and partners from the industry in advance. For us, the safety and health of all exhibitors, visitors, partners and employees has top priority. The moving of Rapid.Tech 3D is difficult for us, but it is the most responsible consequence of the current situation.

The decision to postpone was taken by those responsible at this stage to avoid a “last minute” cancellation. The new day of the event is set to May 4-6 2021.

Rapid. Tech 3D is not the only one event that is now postponed or cancelled. Women in 3D Printing is canceling all the events for the rest of this month and Spanish ADDIT3D, is postponed from May 25-29 to November 23-27 2020.
