Farsoon announced the U.S. market launch of three new metal 3D printers – FS621M Pro-4, FS621M Pro-6 and FS621M-U-4. Machines are dedicated to the rapid production of final parts. Farsoon says the new systems will exploit “enormous potential” in the production of aerospace applications, lowering operating costs and enabling mass production on an industrial scale.

The FS621M was first announced in July 2020 and, according to Farsoon, offers “unparalleled production advantage” in series production. The company says the plant base currently has more than 50 units with customers in the aerospace and manufacturing industries. Following the feedback from the user base and application requirements from the aerospace, oil and gas and energy sectors, Farsoon developed two new systems – FS621M Pro and FS621M-U-4 for producing larger-volume parts and batch production capabilities from materials such as titanium and aluminum alloys, nickel-based super alloys, stainless steels and maraging steels.

The FS621M Pro 3D printer has a working volume of 620 x 808 x 1200 mm which is 30% more in the Y axis compared to the standard FS621M and can be equipped with four or six 500W lasers. Farsoon says multi-laser scanning provides high accuracy overlapping calibrations, ensuring uniform mechanical properties and surface finish of parts across the entire build plate. Control of the construction process, the ability to record and monitor work in real time also contribute to increasing the quality of 3D printing.

Another feature of the new 3D printers is the possibility of equipping them with a permanent filter module, allowing for long-term operation of very large structures. The powder handling processes of the 621M systems share a powder container design that ensures continuous feeding of the powder into the building and the ability to easily replace and monitor material quality.

Farsoon says that with increasing demand for industrialized production of large-size parts in shorter lead times, he plans to further develop the FS621M Pro-8, which will have an eight laser configuration, and the FS621M-U-6, a six-laser configuration, providing “even higher” performance.
