SLM Solutions records record revenues in the first half of 2022.

SLM Solutions, a German manufacturer of industrial metal 3D printers, recorded high order levels in the second quarter of 2022, with machine sales revenue of EUR 22.6 million, an increase of 100% year-on-year. Combined with revenues from 3D printing services and other activities, the company achieved a record result of EUR 26.1 million, an increase of 60% year-on-year, as well as record revenues for the entire first half of 2022 of EUR 42.5 million, an increase of 34% compared to the same period last year. After some tough years with the company’s future hanging in the balance, it seems SLM Solutions is headed for steady growth.

Revenue from orders for 3D printers was EUR 39.4 million, an increase of 59% compared to the same period in 2021. This reflects strong demand for additive manufacturing solutions from an increasing number of customers. The successful implementation of the metal 3D printing system – NXG XII 600 continues with two orders for this system in Q2 2022. At the end of June 2022, SLM Solutions’ order backlog is EUR 49.1 million, which is significantly higher compared to at the end of June 2021 and slightly higher compared to March 2022.

SLM Solutions posted record revenues in both the second quarter and the first half of 2022, driven by the completion of the first NXG XII 600 production systems, strong sales in the existing machine catalog, and continued growth in the aftermarket segment. SLM Solutions emphasizes that it has worked hard to successfully minimize the effects of an ongoing supply chain disruption. The company completed its first two NXG XII 600 production systems in Q2 2022 and expects to accelerate the pace of deliveries towards the second half of 2022.

The high final efficiency combined with SLM Solutions’ focus on continuous operational efficiency improvement and certain targeted cost reduction measures had a positive impact on the Company’s financial results. The financial result of SLM Solutions is also higher due to the positive exchange rate effects. The company recorded EBITDA of EUR 1.3 million for the second quarter of 2022, which is a significant improvement compared to the same period in 2021. In the first half of 2022, SLM recorded EBITDA of EUR -3.0 million, compared to up to EUR -6.2 million in the first half of 2021.
