Zortrax develops its proprietary software – Z-SUITE two way – the basic, blue version is the official, and stable one, while Z-SUITE BETA (in orange) is a kind of testing ground, where the manufacturer, together with the users, tests and refines new functionalities. Both versions of the software are equally proven, just before a given functionality is permanently transferred to the basic version, it undergoes a multi-level testing phase.
The new version of Z-SUITE BETA, number 2.25.0, brings a number of novelties, including four important ones. First of all, Zortrax significantly improved the functioning of the program in the MacOS environment. Improved performance and stability for this system and reduced computer CPU consumption when cutting a 3D model into layers and preparing it to work on a 3D printer.
Secondly, new profiles were introduced for the Zortrax M300 DUAL 3D printer for BASF Ultrafuse PAHT CF15 and Z-SUPPORT ATP materials with the possibility of 3D printing on layers with a thickness of 0.30 mm and 0.40 mm for a steel nozzle with a thickness of 0.6 mm. Additionally, a profile was introduced for the Z-NYLON material with a layer thickness of 0.50 mm for a 0.6 mm nozzle in the single extrusion mode.
Third, a number of general functional and performance improvements have been made. However, the most interesting is “fourth”, which is the introduction of two new tools: adding text on 3D models and measuring the distance between individual models placed on the printbed.
The new tools appeared in the first view, where the models are positioned on the printbed and oriented relative to its surface. Adding text allows you to quickly and easily personalize 3D models – after clicking this option in the menu, you can enter the text and set its two basic parameters: the size and depth with which it will stand out from the surface of a given plane. Measuring the distance between the models is useful when we need to place several or a dozen parts on the printbedsurface and for various reasons we do not want rafters to touch each other. Until now, we had to determine it by trial-and-error, each time simulating a 3D print and applying corrections. Measuring distances will improve and speed up this process.
