Besides MakerBot, Ultimaker is one of two most recognisable companies producing 3D printers in the world and also the biggest producer of this kind in Europe. It owes it success to their candour towards users and RepRap community, which was exactly an “origin” of its creators – the source of each Ultimaker’s design is opened and the company encourages to modify its own constructions. Now, it’s time for the next spectacular marketing success – Ultimaker’s 3D printers are available in 12 European APPLE online stores!
Ultimaker 2+ can be bought in APPLE stores in: Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Spain, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, Sweden, Italy and in Hungary. They aren’t visible on official – main Apple store.
To be honest, 3D printers in offer of computer producers aren’t something new. In 2014 DELL started to sell MakerBot’s 3D printers in its showrooms (MakerBots were also available in Microsoft’s stores). The decision of APPLE seems to be interesting, because it’s the first step of this company towards 3D printing industry. Until now, the company has been collecting patents for this technology. Now, it’s the first time when it starts with retail.
