TOP 20 countries investing the most in additive technologies

Last week we presented fragments of the latest SmarTech Analysis report, which estimated the current value of the global 3D printing market and predicted how much it will be worth in the next 10 years. Today we present another interesting section of this study, this time showing what revenues were generated by individual countries in the world in the context of 3D printing technologies.

Germany is the world market leader, which generated revenues of $ 1.28 billion in 2019. The US came in second with a score of $ 1.23 billion, and the podium closed China with a score of just over $ 1 billion. Given that the sum of all revenues qualified as additive technology expenditure was $ 10.4 billion, it means that these three countries account for 1/3 of the value of the global market.

65% of revenues are generated by the first 10 countries on the list, and another 20% by the next 10. At present, everything indicates that these 20 countries will be responsible for nearly 90% of all global revenues associated with additive production.

Scandinavia, Canada and Russia are markets dominated by the production of 3D printing materials, however bioprinters and concrete 3D printing devices have a significant share in the revenues. 3D printing is very dynamically adapted in India and Japan (although, as the authors of the report indicate, in the latter case the information is not easily available). Service companies have a large share in revenues in the Benelux. SmarTech indicates that in South America the largest recipients of additive solutions will be Brazil, and in Central America – Mexico.
