For several weeks, the entire 3D printing community in the world has been 3D printing medical accessories for doctors and medical services on their 3D printers. The most popular (and also the easiest and easiest to implement) is the design of protective face shields, originally designed and propagated by PRUSA Research. Now the President of Poland Andrzej Duda decided to join the campaign, presenting on his official Twitter account how the shields are 3D printed on the Zortrax M200 Plus owned by the Presidential Palace.
Much has been written about printed shields – the 3D Printing Center was one of the initiators of the entire action in Poland, now countless companies, institutions and organizations from all corners of the world participate in it. According to loose estimates, in Poland alone more than 1,000 shields were 3D printed per day by anyone who had a 3D printer at home, in the company or school. For over a week we can observe a new trend when many people have started to buy 3D printers strictly for 3D printing of shields or other medical accessories (including adapters for 3M masks or adapters for Decathlon’ snorkeling masks).
Now the President of Poland – Andrzej Duda – has entered the campaign. As reported today on his official Twitter account, several Zortrax M200 Plus 3D printers which the President received from the Polish manufacturer in November 2017, are used in manufacturing the shields.
We do not know what performance the Presidential Palace can boast of, or whom orders glass protective shields from, but we congratulate the initiative and thank for your involvement in the project!
