Stratasys has announced the launch of TrueDent – a new resin that allows 3D printing of monolithic, full-color fixed dentures, natural-looking gums with accurate tooth structure, shade and translucency. TrueDent has been approved by the American FDA and is dedicated to the Stratasys J5 DentaJet 3D printer. The solution is designed to enable dental labs to scale production by simplifying workflows and reducing denture processing times, while achieving a personalized, highly aesthetic dental appliance.
According to Stratasys, TrueDent aims to eliminate several barriers for patients and prosthetic labs, including the ability to reduce office visit time, better measurement and adjustment of dentures, and high-fidelity fit between 3D scan and final application. “Until now, printed prostheses and devices had to be designed and manufactured from multiple parts and assembled together,” says Frank Acosta, owner of AA Dental Design. “The TrueDent solution, using Stratasys systems and software, greatly simplifies this process. It also reduces costs and allows for much faster fabrication of dentures and temporary restorations, achieving amazing aesthetics. We can now extend our prosthetic services by large-scale printing of multi-colour, personalized braces.”
TrueDent resin is patent pending and is currently only available in the United States. The material will be presented during LMT Lab Day Chicago, February 23-25, 2023.
