Roboze introduces a new “super material” – Helios PEEK 2005, with an admixture of ceramics

Italian Roboze – manufacturer of high-temperature FDM / FFF 3D printers, announced today the introduction of a new, super-durable consumable material – Helios PEEK 2005. It is a composite of high-performance PEEK material and ceramics. The new filament provides greater stability at high temperatures and, according to Roboze, provides higher performance than similar composites, filled with carbon or glass fibers. Helios PEEK 2005 is to be an ideal material for the production of elements with complex geometry, characterized by thin walls.

The monocrystalline nature of the blend eliminates grain boundaries and minimizes crystallographic defects, maximizing the effectiveness of the filament in application applications. This is also important in reducing time to market for end users as post-processing times are more than 60% lower compared to other superpolymers and composites. Due to the intrinsically low thermal conductivity of the ceramic filling, Helios PEEK 2005 shows high thermal insulation properties even when exposed to operating temperatures above 170 ° C. The printed parts are lightweight, have low electrical conductivity and are suitable for applications where insulation performance is a basic technical requirement.

Roboze is successively trying to find technological solutions in order to replace metal with plastics. The new Roboze filament will be available in March on the Roboze 3D Parts Marketplace – the company’s on-demand 3D printing service. Thus, parts made of Helios PEEK 2005 material can be ordered through a network of specialized partners of the company, with offices around the world and equipped with the Roboze 3D printing technology.
