Raise3D has announced the opening of Hyper FFF technology for Pro2 series 3D printers. The Pro2 series has been the company’s flagship product for years and has one of the world’s highest install rates in the professional segment. In November 2022, Raise3D introduced Hyper FFF technology – an application developed on the basis of the Klipper open source project, which offers increased efficiency of 3D printing in FFF technology, without compromising the quality of printed parts. Raise3D has introduced this upgrade for the Pro3 series, which is also used by thousands of customers around the world. Now the same functionality is available to Raise3D Pro2 users.
Raise3D has released the first level (L1) of Hyper FFF for the Pro2 series for free – only the 3D printer software update is required. To achieve this, you need to register on the manufacturer’s website and take part in an open test. The test period is open to all users who want to share their opinion with Raise3D about the solution. During open testing, Raise3D wants to identify and correct any minor bugs that may not have appeared during the previous stages, so that the final version of the firmware can be released. Open-Test participants may encounter some bugs, but they do not have a negative impact on the 3D printer itself.
The update will support seven filaments, including Hyper Speed ABS, Hyper Speed PLA, Premium ABS, Premium PLA, Premium PETG, Premium ASA, and Premium PC. Each filament will come with two 3D printing profiles (High Quality and Standard) and the update will support 0.4mm diameter nozzles. The ideaMaker 4.4.1 Alpha update includes the addition of the Pro2 series printers along with seven new customized filaments and profiles for the Pro2 series Hyper Speed mode.
More Hyper Speed filaments such as PETG, PC, ASA, ESD-safe will be introduced later this year. The first filament in the Hyper Core line will also be launched in 2023 – PPA CF, a carbon fiber reinforced composite filament with excellent heat resistance, strength and stiffness.
Using Raise3D materials in Hyper Speed mode, the Pro2 Series 3D printers can achieve Level 1 print speeds, which means speeds up to 150mm/s and a maximum acceleration of 5000mm/s2. In comparison, the Pro3 series 3D printers achieve level 2 print speeds with an additional hardware upgrade.
Users wishing to participate in the open test will be asked to provide an email address, complete a questionnaire and activate the update by entering the appropriate serial number of their Pro2 series 3D printers. Once activation is complete, they will receive an email with instructions to install the firmware update.
With the introduction of Hyper FFF for the Pro2 series, Raise3D will make the functionality available for the Pro3 and Pro2 series printers. In the second quarter of 2023, Raise3D also plans to start an open test for L1 Hyper FFF for E2 and E2CF printers, which will also be made available free of charge later.
