Prototal takes over the Italian service company Prosilas

Prosilas s.r.l, a leading European provider of 3D printing services based in Italy, was acquired by Prototal Industries, a leader in additive manufacturing and injection molding of polymeric materials in the Nordic region. The acquisition will strengthen Prototal’s operations in Europe and provide existing Prosilas customers with additional production services. Thanks to the acquisition of Prosilas, Prototal will have one of the largest production capacities in Europe in the field of additive manufacturing.

Prosilas, headquartered in the province of Macerata in Italy, was founded in 2003 and has been providing specialist additive manufacturing services in the European market for almost two decades. The company provides comprehensive services, from design support and optimization, through prototyping, to serial production and post-processing. Prosilas’s main specialization is 3D SLS printing and holds quality certificates, including ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO / IEC 27001 for cybersecurity and ISO 14001: 2015.

The company has experienced significant growth since 2016, adding industrial systems for industrial 3D printing to its machine park and implementing advanced solutions such as automated materials management systems, MES software and quality solutions. In recent years, Prosilas has been interested in establishing an industrial partnership to expand its reach and customer base on the European continent.

Prototal, on the other hand, boasts an annual turnover of around EUR 50 million and an expert team of over 200 employees at seven locations. In recent years, the company has moved beyond the Nordic region, first with the acquisition of UK service company 3T Additive Manufacturing for additive manufacturing polymers, and now with the acquisition of Prosilas.

Thanks to the agreement officially finalized on November 15, 2021, Prototal Industries acquired 100% of the shares in Prosilas. In the future, the CEO of the acquired company, Vanna Menco, will remain as CEO and CEO of Prosilas. Giulio Menco, founder of Prosilas and Vanny’s father, will retain his role as a technical consultant specializing in experimental and R&D fields. The current members of the Prosilas team will also remain in the company’s structures as part of the acquisition agreement.
