Spectrum Group, one of the largest producers of 3D printer filament in Europe, has signed an agreement with Advanced Graphene Products, based in Zielona Góra, for the production of filament with the addition of graphene. Before we talk more about the cooperation, it is worth presenting the profile of AGP, because Spectrum Group is rather well-known among our readers.
The company was established in 2021 as a spin-off of the Lodz University of Technology, where the current members of the company’s scientific council, prof. Piotr Kula and prof. Łukasz Kaczmarek developed technologies that are the foundation of the AGP portfolio. The same year, the company made its debut on the stock exchange on New Connect.
The signed agreement provides for a specific division of responsibilities for both companies. AGP will supply graphene in pure form or as a masterbatch with graphene to Spectrum Group. It will also lease to Spectrum a production line capable of producing filament with an admixture of graphene. It is worth adding that the technology for producing graphene filament was also developed by AGP. Spectrum’s task is to produce a filament called Prografen according to the recipe provided by AGP and commercialize it. Advanced Graphene Products will receive a commission from the sale of each spool of material. The contract was signed for 7 years.
Originally, AGP wanted to develop both the production and sale of the filaments it had developed, but as they admit, it turned out to be too complicated at the moment. The company now plans to focus on research and development activities.
