ODO Motion – a sensor for auto-levelling of working beds of 3D printers available in the offer of get3D

ODO Motion is a product of Infinum3D.  It is a quite innovative gadget for low-budget 3D printers which can change a quality of our work. The device is used for auto-levelling of working bed and nozzle and eliminates a need of calibration of 3D printer, before you start to print. Thanks to ODO Motion your 3D printer can check a distance from the working bed and tries to steer with Z axis, to choose a proper distance of the nozzle.

ODO Motion is a system of sensors, prepared to work with low-budget 3D printers, using FDM technology. It is compatible with several popular types of electronics and firmware, available on the market. It is equipped with its own processor, and thanks to implemented DSP algorithms, it analyses collected signals, what makes it more sensitive.

An assembly of ODO Motion is very simple – sensors (or a sensor, when a working bed is quite small) are assembled under working bed and switched to electronics. An assembly in case of for example Ultimaker 2+ looks as followed: under glass and heater you put a cork pad, a 1,5 mm thick aluminium sheet and than sensor(s). As far as configuration of firmware is considered, in case of the most popular solutions – Merlin, Repetier Host and Smoothieware, you just need to switch an option of automatic levelling.

After installation of ODO Motion, you can start to work. A 3D printer measures a distance between the nozzle and working bed in control point, after heating of the nozzle and than starts to print. A 3D printer can automatically choose a proper a distance between the nozzle and the edge of the working bed.

The sensors are available in the offer of get3D. They are packed in aesthetic carton box. One sensor costs about 60 .
