During Paris Fashion Week, Reebok, HP and New Guards Group presented a new concept of shoes, designed together with the luxury brand Botter. Reebok x Botter sneakers combine the iconic vintage football style of the Reebok brand with the style that Botter has been known for since 2017 with the unique “Banker” footwear model. The design of the Reebok x Botter shoes is also inspired by Botter’s love of the ocean, expressed by the designer through the unique look of the shoes, reminiscent of the Murex sea shell, an object that in legends the Greek goddess Venus used to comb her hair.
The unusual form of the shoe was created and designed by the HP 3D Printing team using HP Multi Jet Fusion technology. After printing, the gray sneakers were hand-painted with the shades of the Caribbean Sea inspired by Botter’s FW23 collection. The end result is not only an innovative luxury shoe, but also an eco-friendly alternative to traditional sneaker production.
HP Multi Jet Fusion was created to innovate design and manufacturing by unlocking the full potential of 3D printing and exploring techniques that are even more energy efficient and sustainable. This process is focused on not producing any waste. The material used – TPU, is highly recyclable after recycling, which can help reduce excessive waste production.
“At HP, we have assembled a group of footwear specialists led by Don Albert, taking into account his 25 years of experience. This team has developed a comprehensive solution to help footwear companies large and small, both in the fashion and consumer industries, achieve their goals using HP Multi Jet Fusion technology,” said François Minec, Global Head of Polymers, HP Personalization & 3D printing. “In this way, we provide a new level of design freedom, fast and efficient product development and a sustainable local production process. Our cooperation with Reebok and Botter is a perfect introduction of modern HP solutions to the footwear industry.”
Commenting on the brand collaboration, Nathan Jobe, Head of Footwear at NGG++, added: “NGG and Reebok have a rich history in street and fashion culture. The key is to work with people who are heading in the same direction. Botter is a very important part of our community. We were happy to support their show and showcase the amazing capabilities of HP technology at this event. This collaboration reveals a journey that unfolds through the creation of new concepts, and celebrates culture and heritage, embodying them in a vision for the future. We look forward to creating more projects with them in the future.”
“We are very excited to join forces with Reebok and create a shared vision for the new future of footwear and apparel. Our goal is to push the boundaries of technology and sustainability while embracing Reebok’s heritage,” added Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh of Botter.
Reebok x Botter Engineered by HP sneakers is a concept that represents the first step towards innovation and sustainable fashion development that Reebok has taken with the New Guards Group since the acquisition of the company by Authentic Brands Group (Authentic). The design’s debut at Paris Fashion Week is a symbol of the exciting changes that the future will bring.
“We knew that partnering with New Guards Group would allow us to raise the bar by bringing new, unexpected concepts to consumers,” said Todd Krinsky, Reebok CEO & President. “I am incredibly pleased with what we have achieved in such a short time, and this latest project with Botter and HP has provided just a taste of what lies ahead in this long-term partnership.”
