Nexa3D – a manufacturer of ultra-fast polymer 3D printers, has established cooperation with Mechnano – the creator of innovative light-curing resins, as part of which it has introduced a new ESD class resin to the market. A material called xESD can be used to produce electrostatic dissipative parts.
Mechnano is the first company to manufacture carbon nanotube parts using photopolymer 3D printers to achieve electrostatic dissipation properties or to improve impact, tear and tensile resistance. The technology has been in development for over a decade and is protected by over 120 issued or pending patents.
The new Nexa3D xESD resin provides an innovative and cost effective solution for producing high resolution parts that dissipate static electricity. 3D prints made of it will be used in the production of housings or electronic equipment, as well as in factories when handling critical electronic components. xESD addresses the demand for rapid production and prototyping, enabling users to create custom fixtures, fixtures, mounting accessories, and enclosures in just a few hours.
xESD is a rigid material that uses Mechnano’s proprietary MechT technology to create a stable dispersion of carbon nanotubes. Provides optimal electrostatic dissipation performance and isotropic mechanical properties that are required by the electronics industry.
MechT technology allows to untangle and separate carbon nanotubes in additive manufacturing material without rebonding them. In addition to ESD, the resulting nanotubes can be adapted to specific performance requirements and provide previously unattainable parameters such as a 50% increase in tensile strength, a 200% increase in impact strength or an 850% increase in tear resistance.
The Nexa3D xESD material is available in black and is dedicated to work with both NXE Pro series 3D printers and XiP desktop 3D printers.
