Materialise – a provider of additive manufacturing and medical software, and advanced 3D printing services for virtually every available additive method, published financial results for the third quarter of 2021, achieving growth in all indicators. The company’s revenues alone increased by as much as 28.8% and amounted to EUR 52.2 million.
In the third quarter of last year, Materialise posted revenues of EUR 40.8 million, which is 11.4 million less than today. Adjusted EBITDA increased by 62% to EUR 9.7 million compared to EUR 6.0 million year-on-year. Adjusted EBITDA margin for the third quarter of 2021 increased to 18.7% from 14.8% for the corresponding, third quarter of 2020.
Revenues from software sales increased by 10.4% to EUR 10.5 million. Operating revenues in the medical sector increased by a corresponding 10.2% to EUR 19.0 million. The company recorded the largest growth in the area of 3D printing and related services, where Materialise’s revenues increased by as much as 61.2% and amounted to EUR 22.9 million, compared to EUR 14.2 million in the same period last year.
Gross profit was 31.1 million euros, an increase of 33.4% compared to 23.3 million euros in 2020, while the gross profit margin increased to 59.5% of total revenues compared to 57.1% in the third quarter of 2020.
Materialise expects consolidated revenues for 2021 to reach a higher level than the previously communicated range of EUR 197 million to EUR 200 million.
