Lithoz – a ceramic 3D printing company, announced 2022 as the best year in its history

Lithoz GmbH, a leading company operating in the ceramic 3D printing sector, has declared 2022 the most successful year in terms of the number of orders in its history. While series production using LCM technology has already been successfully implemented by many companies in various fields, more and more customers from industries such as aerospace, dentistry, medicine and electronics place orders for 3D printers for ceramics.

Sales of Lithoz 3D printers doubled from last year, already reaching two-thirds of the full-year order target by the end of the second quarter of the year. Most of the new orders came from industrial customers who had switched to digital mass production. The company currently has four production plants, three ceramic additive manufacturing technologies and a total of more than 140 employees.

With new and existing industry partners investing more and more in additive manufacturing technology, Lithoz nearly doubled its machine sales this year as it pursued its mission to establish LCM technology as the industry standard for ceramic 3D printing. In addition to this milestone in machine sales, the company now has several customers with fleets of CeraFab 3D printers producing millions of 3D-printed ceramic parts annually. With the launch of two new materials, the growing demand shows how the beneficial properties of ceramics are increasingly being recognized in medical, dental and industrial applications.

This year, the company introduced two new technologies to its 3D printing technology portfolio. With the launch of the CeraMax Vario V900 3D printer in June 2022, laser-induced slip casting joined the efficient ceramic manufacturing process based on lithography (LCM), which until this year was the only 3D printing technology. This uses an entirely new technique to build large, thick-walled, full-density parts. The announcement of Lithoz’s first acquisition in the form of CerAMing then added LSD-Print as a new process that will provide customers with another pioneering technology for working with ceramic 3D printing.
