During the annual Formlabs User Summit, the company presented a set of tools for post-processing 3D printouts in terms of SLA technology. The package improves the workflow in the post-processing process, facilitating the production of high-quality parts.

Formlabs spent a lot of time researching the community of users of its 3D printers to develop a kit content that includes a range of different add-on options for each tool. They are optimized especially for the processing of 3D prints, especially those made in the SLA technology, although they can be successfully used when working with prints made with other methods (including FDM / FFF).

Formlabs finishing tools cost $ 299 and include:

  • an ergonomic pen grinder that allows you to create a uniform surface finish on flat and gently curved parts
  • a rotary tool for removing traces of supports and enlarging the holes in the printouts
  • a set of rotary tools:
    • grinding + polishing (16 pieces)
    • Buffing Bits (12 pieces) to create a uniform finish after sanding
  • Flush Cutters for removing tips after removing / breaking off supports
  • a hobby knife with a set of blades
  • spray bottle for dispensing IPA or water
  • microfiber cloth
  • large silicone mat (40 x 61 cm).
