FIT AG – a German company providing industrial 3D printing services, has become the official service office of the Spanish Meltio in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). The cooperation between the companies is expected to make a key contribution to the development of applications of 3D metal-in-wire printing technology using direct energy deposition (DED).
FIT AG provides metal 3D printing services for various industries, including laser beam selective metal powder fusion (PBF / SLM), electron beam fusion (EBM), wire arc additive manufacturing and cold spray 3D printing. Meltio’s wire laser metal deposition (LMD) technology was included in this offering after careful examination of its range of application applications and advantages.
Meltio’s LMD process uses commercially available welding wire to produce parts, with the weld beads being stacked on top of each other after being introduced into a laser-generated weld pool. FIT AG sees this technology as the “missing link” between selective laser melting and wire arc additive manufacturing.
“We are excited about the collaboration with FIT AG as it is an excellent indicator of the evolution of the Meltio ecosystem,” commented Moisés Moza Sanchez, sales manager for the DACH region at Meltio. “Together we will be able to meet the constantly growing interest in Meltio technology and its applications. In addition to using the knowledge of FIT AG, we will be able to further develop the application of the unique wire-laser metal additive manufacturing method in various industries.”
“Meltio’s DED laser wire technology appears to be the perfect complement to our 3D printing technologies,” added Carl Fruth, founder and CEO of FIT AG. “We see fantastic opportunities here to develop new, groundbreaking applications together with our customers.”
