BCN3D launches new Epsilon dual-head 3D printer with large and closed workspace

The Spanish manufacturer of 3D printers – BCN3D Technologies, known for the production of popular models Sigma R19 and Sigmax R19 equipped with a system of two independent IDEX printheads, announced the premiere of a new machine that will take place next week, at the Formnext 2019 in Frankfurt am Main. The device will be dedicated to creating applications of an industrial nature and will use filaments supplied by renowned chemical companies – with BASF and Mitsubishi Chemical in the forefront. At the same time, the company announced talks with automotive companies such as BMW, Nissan, Seat and Renault regarding the implementation of the new BCN3D Epsilon 3D printer in their production departments.

The distinguishing factor for BCN3D 3D printers on the market is primarily the IDEX system, which consists in the independent operation of two printheads installed on separate carts. This allows two printing modes: mirroring and duplication.

The new BCN3D Epsilon is to have a working area of 42 x 30 x 40 cm, have a closed (though not heated) working chamber, equipped with HEPA and carbon filters. As in the case of the Sigma series models, it has filament flow sensors that detect the moment of its blocking (either on the spool or in the head) and a replaceable printhead system, including one capable of easily handling 3D printing of doped filaments, e.g. carbon fiber.

New is wireless communication and a remote 3D printing management system through the cloud – BCN3D Cloud.

The 3D printer will be presented to the public during the next week’s Formnext 2019 trade fair in Frankfurt am Main. Its price is €6995.

The premiere of the device is not the only novelty of BCN3D – the company announced the signing of partnership agreements with BASF and Mitsubishi Chemical (MCPP) to develop new filaments for industrial applications, 100% compatible with Epsilon. The range of new technical materials opens up the possibility of obtaining ready-made functional parts in the manufacturing, engineering and designing of new products.
