Two years ago, during the LMT Lab Day dental exhibition in Chicago, 3D Systems presented for the first time its super fast and efficient 3D printing system with light-cured resins – NextDent 5100. The machine being a modified version of the 3D Figure 4 printer was directed for laboratories and dental clinics, which can use it to print prosthetic models more than four times faster than other similar solutions. Now the manufacturer returns to LMT Lab Day presenting not only the latest version of the device, but above all an innovative work environment for creating orthodontic models, allowing even easier and faster the work of prosthetic technicians.
The ecosystem consisting of the NextDent 5100 3D printer, new NextDent Model 2.0 material and 3D Sprint software will allow prosthetic laboratories to produce 30 orthodontic models in one 3D printing process or about 120 models within eight hours of work (depending on the size and geometry of individual details ). The key functionality is the option of automatic stacking of details on top of each other, including intelligent nesting and generation of support structures. Pre-processing is prepared in 3D Sprint and is done with one click.
The feature will be implemented at the beginning of the second quarter of this year. It will be available to both new and existing users of NextDent 5100 3D printers by updating 3D Sprint software.
NextDent 5100 has a working area of 124.8 x 70.2 x 196 mm, a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and uses a wavelength of 405 nm. The 3D printer is very fast – the manufacturer ensures that printing details that fill the entire working surface of the table should not take more than 40 minutes. At work, it uses over 30 dedicated NextDent materials, including biocompatible, certified by FDA.
